Saraswati Day
Saraswati is a Hindu's great day every saniscara umanis watugunung based on Balinese Calendar or Pawukon, the name sarswati came from "Saras" meaning flow and " Wati" meaning women. Saraswati is the day when knowledge down to the earth. Saraswati is Knowledge God and also known as Brahma's wife.
Saraswati simbolized as pretty women with four handed riding a white swan among water lilies. in each of her hand she hold a lontar, a genitri sombolising that knowledege never ending, a wina simbolising that science develops through the growth of culture
in saraswati day we are not permitted to read or write the books because all the book are offered. the day of preparation named pangredanan, it's one day before saraswati. in pangredanan we gathered the book together, cleaned, and dusted. And the day after saraswati is Banyu Pinaruh. "Banyu" means water and " Pinaruh" means wisdom. in other word we must have a wisdom which flows like a water and useful for human kind.
