SMANSA’s 65^th Anniversary: Answering the Hesitation of The Local Communities

As we all know that nobody in the world is not happy when they hear the word “anniversary” because it is something which is very closely related with all the school reputations, achievements and prestige during the schooling years. An anniversary of certain school or institution is something very touching the heart of most people involved because they have the moral obligation to show themselves to everyone around on thins they can do to pay salute or homage to their school or institution.

One of many schools which celebrate its anniversary is SMA Negeri 1 Singaraja. We usually call it as SMANSA. All achievements that have been got by the students and teachers of SMANSA make SMANSA becomes one of the best school in Bali province, especially in Singaraja. All of us also know that SMANSA is the oldest school in Bali which was built in 1950.

SMANSA’s anniversary is on November 1^st every year. In this year, SMANSA’s 65^th anniversary will be celebrated as usual. The opening celebration was held on October 24^th 2015 and the main celebration will be held on November 1^st 2015. All students, teachers, school employees and staffs are really enthusiastic in order to welcome this celebration.

There are so many competitions that will be held from the opening day until the main celebration. The competition are divided into three categories. Firstly the competition among the different generation, such as perkusi, kecak, dance, drawing a graffiti, making a tumpeng, and making a miniature of SMANSA competition. Secondly the competition among the student from all classes, such as photography and band competitions, sports competition, prince and princess of SMANSA, writing an article, making an English poster, making clothes and banner design, cycling, and other competitions. The last one is the competition among the teachers such as teachers fashion show. All the competition will be bun, of course, since what we actually want is not the prize or being number one or two, but we really want to show our best and commitment to this celebration and make it successful.

All of us know that SMANSA can’t be separated with the academic activities, so on October 12^th 2015 SMANSA conducted the academic competition for the Junior High School students, such as Science, Pythagoras, and English competitions. These competitions was participated by the students from many Junior High School in Singaraja and outside Singaraja.

The opening celebration of SMANSA’s anniversary is always attended by the regent of Buleleng Regency in order to inaugurate the celebration together with the head master of SMANSA, Mr. I Putu Eka Wiliantara, M,pd and also the 1997 generation alumnae of SMANSA will join the SMANSA’s anniversary this year to make thing become more colorful. Then the activities will continued by walking on certain routes together and come back to SMANSA. There are so many events in the main celebration. The main celebration of SMANSA’s anniversary is usually attended by the important people of Buleleng Regency and the alumnae of SMANSA. SMANSA usually invites the guest star to entertain the audience, but in the celebration this year, there will be no guest star because from the previous celebration can be seen that many audience didn’t enjoy and not really interested with the guest star performance. And another reason is the head master of SMANSA, Mr. I Putu Eka Wiliantara, M,pd believes that many the students in SMANSA have many potencies and talents within themselves. So, it is better to give students a chance to show their performance, to everyone around and the can also improve their talents through their performances.

I think all of you will be surely curious why the theme “Answering the Hesitation of The Local Communities’ was chosen for the celebration of SMANSA’s 65^th anniversary. Actually, it is because all members of SMANSA really want to prove to the public that SMANSA is still the best school in Bali, especially in Singaraja, different from others and always excellent in quality and character, although there are always some lacks and problems behind all the success and achievement in academic and non-academic field that have been got by all components of SMANSA. And also we want to prove that SMANSA is always cohesive and there is no difference among the generations in SMANSA (Helios as the youngest one, Deucalion and Obelisk as the oldest one). Anyway, Helios is the name for 10^th grade generation, Deucalion is for 11^th generation, and Obelisk is for 12^th grade generation. The name, which has chosen for each generation doesn’t mean that we are separated, but it means that we are one family who always appreciate all differences between us.

As one of the student from the oldest generation, personally I hope that almighty god always gives his blessing to us, so the celebration of SMANSA’s 65^th anniversary will be very successful and be the best celebration for all members in SMANSA, especially for me and my generation “Obelisk” because this is the last time for us to celebrate SMANSA’s anniversary together with members. And also we promise that we will do something special and different for our beloved SMANSA in this celebration. I wish also that this celebration can really answer all hesitation from the local community
