Independent? Yes, We are. No, We are Not.

MERDEKA!!

We cheer our independence, freedom, our ancestors’ victory in the past. We have to thanks lot for those, both our heroes and veteran who had given their “everything” even their soul for Indonesia, for us as their generation so that we can wake up from our dream without any fear of gunshots.

Yesterday, August 17^th 2015 we had celebrated our Independence Day. It had been 70 years since our founding father, Bung Karno, proclaimed the Indonesian Independence. We, as a nation, are not young anymore but are not too old too. What does it mean? It means that we can’t say that “Indonesia is a new nation” as a respond to the problems. Meanwhile, we may not give up to struggle for our better future.

Our sight, our mindset of what Indonesia will be have to be great, both idealist and realistic. Idealism will make us run in the right way, realism make us see the “things” on our way. Okay, we can say that Indonesia is a great country, superpower in natural resources, huge number of man, the lung of the heart, the last paradise, and many others. It’s normal, it’s really normal, if the people pride their nation. But, don’t forget to see the facts.

The fact is Indonesia had proclaimed its independence. The other facts are poverty still live in us, low quality education are welcoming our generations, high-cost goods, foods, and even health facilities are haunting us nowadays. If we look around us, the facts about us, can we still hail our country greatness? Even can we say that we have got our independence?

We are not heading to a pessimistic mindset. This is realistic. The facts should push us to wake up, open up our eyes, and struggle to solve every problems we face. AYO KERJA! Simple theme of our National Independence day this year. Only two words to “move” the people of Indonesia. Indonesian people have to keep moving forward. Laziness, corruption, mental destruction, and pervert mind. Those are not the character of the developing of Indonesian people. We will make it! As the young generation of Indonesia, we must not stop even shouldn’t pause in struggling for our future, for our Indonesia.

Now, if someone ask about our Independence: Independent? Yes, we are. No, we are not. Yes, we will. It means that we have a great sight of independence.
